| A few years ago, Henry and Judy Dodrer decided to make a
career change.
Henry was a machinist and an auctioneer. Judy's dream was to open an
antique
mall. After spending several months looking for the right site to house
antiques and to hold auctions, Henry and Judy found a 30-year old
building
in Westminster, Maryland that met their specifications. On July 31,
1994,
the Westminster Antique Mall opened for business with 34 dealers in
house.
By September all available space was filled. The success story
continued
for Henry and Judy as the mall expanded in September 1997, making it
the largest antique mall in Maryland.
Henry and Judy have created an impressive handicapped
accessible mall
with 33,000 square feet of antiques and collectibles.Today, more than
165
dealers proudly display their specialties in attractively arranged
booths.
Their creativity in this well designed mall evokes a pleasant feeling
as
one browses . Customers comment that they like the music from the 40's,
50's, and 60's; and that it makes them feel like dancing down the
aisles.
Benches are strategically placed around the mall for added comfort and
convenience while the customer contemplates the purchase of that much
sought
after find. Warm, friendly and knowledgeable staff is readily available
for assistance. Henry and Judy attribute their success to "hard
work,
good dealers and the good Lord." Come visit WAM soon. The mall is open
7 days a week. Monday through Saturday from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM, and
Sundays 12:00 Noon until 6:00 PM.
